EVCCA Releases Fourth Business Impact Survey 

The East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance (EVCCA) is committed to helping you navigate the economic disruption of COVID-19.

2020 State of the District Recap

Last Friday, the Tempe Chamber made history its very first live broadcast of a signature event. Live in a closed studio, Tempe Chamber CEO Anne Gill opened the program by thanking the event sponsors including the exclusive technology sponsor, Video West, who graciously provided the studio and technology to make the event possible. Presenting Sponsor FOX was also able to provide an exciting welcome from Danny O’Brien who join live from Washington D.C.

Congressman Stanton provided the audience of almost 200 attendees with a live update from his recent travels to Washington D.C. and what they can expect to see from Congress in the coming weeks. Following his address, several members asked questions through video regarding higher education, insurance policies put in place, local journalism and other issues affecting their industries.

Funding Still Available for Local Emergency Loan Program

Last month, the City of Tempe and Desert Financial Credit Union came together to develop a local program for Tempe-based companies with less than 50 employees, creating the Tempe Small Business Emergency Loan Program. 

This program is designed to help smaller local businesses conquer COVID-19 difficulties in their industries. Funding from this program can be used to pay rent, payroll, or other operational needs. OHSHA Provides COVID-19 Workplace Guidance 

The Department of Labor and Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OHSHA) have prepared a 35-page document and informational resource for employers as offices begin to reopen its doors. View the updated guidance document here. 
US Chamber Provides Customizable Workplace Flyer 

The US Chamber of Commerce has created an easy-to-use customizable flyer that allows employers to showcase what actions are being taken to ensure the health and safety of employees and customers. Click here to access the flyer. 
 
Cox Charities Grant Application Due This Friday 

In a recent press release, Cox Charities announced that they are asking Arizona nonprofits that focus on K−12 youth and education programs to submit proposals for grants valued at up to $10,000. This year's grant cycle is now open and closes Friday, May 29, 2020. For more information on the guidelines and to learn more about Cox's community involvement and support, click here. 
Arizona Commerce Authority Introduces Grant to Support Employers

To support Arizona employers and continue energizing Arizona's economy, the Rapid Employment Job Training Grant was introduced. Now, private or public organizations who have hired new employees between March 1, 2020, and September 1, 2020, and provided training are eligible for reimbursement. Phoenix Sky Harbor Announces Requirement of Face Covering

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport announced that starting June 1, 2020, all employees and members of the public entering airport facilities will be required to wear a face covering. To read more about this update, please click here. 
 
City of Tempe Opens Safe Space to Battle Summer Heat
