Tempe Chamber Board of Directors Nomination Deadline is Tomorrow

The Call for Nominations is now open and the Tempe Chamber of Commerce is seeking candidates for its board of directors.

Help lead your Chamber and profession into the future by nominating a colleague or yourself. The Call for Nominations closes on March 17. Nominations can be sent via email to Anne Gill.
 
Tempe Chamber Signs Letter in Support of Extending the PPP Deadline

The Paycheck Protection Program has been instrumental in helping our members who have needed a little extra support to keep business going during the pandemic. Which is why we joined the U.S. Chamber to urge Congress to extend the program deadline through the end of 2021. Read the full letter here.
 
2021 Business Excellence Nominations are Open

We are still accepting nominations for the 2021 Business Excellence Awards. This award identifies and recognizes companies whose practices in business and employee development, community involvement, and customer service exemplify excellence. The recipient will be announced at the 2021 State of the Chamber on June 25, 2021, at 9 am, which will be a live, studio broadcast.

Three finalists will be selected in two categories: one for Small Businesses with 25 employees or less and Large Businesses with 26 employees or more. Nominate a business by April 9, 2021Nominate a business today!

Desert Financial, Fiesta Bowl Create Kindness Arizona

While the Fiesta Bowl held its game this year, no tickets were sold due to the pandemic and the organization lost money on the event. But in order to keep up with its past charitable donations, the organization wanted to keep as many of its sponsors as possible, which meant having some sort of event that was sponsored. Pet Housing Help AZ Task Force

The COVID-19 pandemic is putting millions of pets across the country at risk of being surrendered to animal shelters by families who love them but are forced to choose between finding a place to live or keeping their pets. Seven of Arizona’s leading animal welfare organizations have partnered to form the Pet Housing Help AZ Task Force to provide resources, rehoming options and a temporary pet foster program for pet owners in need. Deadline Extended: Hammersmith Support is Looking for Their Next Pro Bono Client!

Each year, Hammersmith Support selects a nonprofit and provides our maintenance services pro bono for the next year. During this time, we’re able to get their website updated not only on the “inside,” but we’re also able to make content changes and add infrastructure that benefits the users as well as the organization in so many ways. We are accepting applications through March 28th. KJZZ Announces New Podcast Series

Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business is one of the nation’s most outstanding business schools, according to the Princeton Review. The education services company chose W. P. Fiesta Bowl Charities Delivers Charitable Giving of $5.5 Million for 2020-21 to Increase Total to $16 Million Over Last Five Years

Fiesta Bowl Charities helped Arizona communities, nonprofits and teachers during an unprecedented pandemic, to provide necessary resources that helped millions of Arizonans in the 2020-21 season. Within a total of $5.5 million in charitable giving, unique for this season was $1 million in emergency relief for COVID-19 and a $2 million donation to begin the Margaret T. Tempe Community Council Seeking Candidates for Board of Directors
 
Tempe Community Council is currently recruiting applicants for upcoming vacancies on their board of directors. A 501(c)3 human services nonprofit since 1972, TCC has a mission to “connect those in need with those who care.” Applications are being accepted until March 14. The board term will begin July 1, 2020. You must live or work in Tempe to be eligible. A diverse representation of individuals is desired who have a passion to help those in need and have experience and skills in a variety of areas, especially finance, legal, policy and facilitation; all applications are considered. City of Tempe COVID-19 Testing & Vaccine Updates

Tempe has two new COVID-19 testing locations at Kiwanis Park and Big Surf. The Kiwanis Park location, operated by Embry Health, offers free saliva diagnostic testing. The Big Surf location, operated by Nutrynt, offers free diagnostic testing plus rapid and antibody tests for a fee. Bring your ID and insurance card if you have one. Learn more.
