|Tempe Chamber Provides Free ASVE Training|
The Tempe Chamber is committed to help bridge the gap between Tempe employers’ current and future employment needs and the skills of today’s workforce. With this mission in mind, the Tempe Chamber Military Affairs Committee has partnered with the Arizona Coalition for Military Families to provide a free workshop that helps employers fulfill the requirements to become an Arizona Veteran Supportive Employer (AVSE).
This workshop focuses on how to effectively hire, manage, and retain service members, veterans, and their family members and how to maximize the potential of every veteran employee. This is a FREE event for Tempe Chamber members. Register for this workshop today!

|Rio Salado College Awarded Adult Education Program of the Year|
The Arizona Department of Education named Rio Salado College as the Adult Education Program of the Year and ABE/ASE Excelling Program award-winner for 2017-18. This is the second year in a row Rio Salado received the Program of the Year award.
“We are honored by this recognition and take great pride in serving as Arizona’s largest provider of adult education,” said Rio Salado Interim President Kate Smith.
The Program of the Year Award criteria is based on student education and employment outcomes, student retention, cost per participant, compliance with grant requirements and timely reporting. Read more here.

Chamber member vCandidates.com announced their launch last week. With their entrance into the market, they are changing the job search paradigm by helping prepare and prescreen candidates for vetted recruiting professionals. |Tempe Wants Feedback on Proposed Development Bonus Program|
Tempe is seeking input on a draft Development Bonus Program as part of the city’s Urban Core Master Plan process. A development bonus would provide the opportunity to add housing units or commercial office space in exchange for providing community benefits. Beginning Dec. 3, community members can attend a public meeting or read online materials and provide feedback – either in person or through an online survey.

- Apache Blvd east of Terrace Road: OCS foundation work continues. This will be overnight work due to the location near the existing light rail system. - Apache Blvd east of Rural Road: Track installation and OCS foundation work continues. Traffic maintained in both directions. Expect turn restrictions and possible sidewalk/crosswalk detours.
- Ash Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway intersection: Road widening efforts are ongoing at the Ash Avenue/Rio Salado Parkway intersection in preparation for roundabout construction in early 2020.
