Distracted Drivers Beware!
The City Council approved a Distracted Driving Ordinance last night which makes it a PRIMARY offense to be HOLDING a phone while driving.

This means the police can pull you over and issue a ticket if they see you driving and have your phone in your hand. Even if you are stopped at a red light.

Penalties for a first violation would be $100. It jumps to $250 for a second violation and further violations in a two-year span would be $500.
