This year's 63rd Fighter Squadron "Professional of the Year" recipient is Captain Chase Carter. 



Capt Chase Carter most recently served as an Instructor Pilot in the 63d FS.


Capt Chase Carter completed his transition to the F35A in 2018 in preparation for his primary duty as an Instructor Pilot in the 63d FS. As an IP, he served as the Assistant Chief of Weapons, Flight Commander, and Commanders Assistant.  Three of his most notable and on-going projects include the development of the first F35A Demo Team, facilitating the 63 FS transition to a US only squadron, and a revitalization of the squadrons CSS processes. Capt Carter was previously assigned to the 366 FW weapons and tactics shop while flying in the 391st FS as a qualified F15E pilot at Mountain Home AFB. He entered the Air Force in 2012 as a graduate of the ROTC program at Penn State University. Capt Carter has spent 8 years in the USAF flying the F15E and the F35A. He has served in combat in both Iraq and Syria, amassing more than 1,400 total flight hours, with more than 450 hours of combat experience in the F-15E.
