As President of the Arizona Regional Office for Employers
Council, Karen leads a team of dedicated employment law attorneys, human resources leaders, facilitators, trainers, and other specialists to provide excellent service to member organizations. Her focus on business development allows Employers Council to further its reach and ability to support the Arizona business community.

Karen joined the Employers Council in 2004. During her 15-year tenure with the company, she has acted as Manager of Organizational Learning and Development, Arizona Vice President of Membership Development and many other roles. A graduate of the University of Hawaii, Karen holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and is a certified instructor in several leadership, human resources, and teambuilding training courses. Karen has also served on faculty with a local university in the areas of employment law, human resources and management studies. She also presents regularly at local, statewide, and national conferences.

With over twenty five years of human resources experience, Karen has served in senior management and HR consulting positions in a variety of business settings. From non-profit agencies and small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations, Karen’s expertise spans the industries of property casualty insurance, family entertainment, health care, and banking.

Karen has counseled, educated and trained hundreds of Employers Council members and other HR professionals on the topics of supervision, leadership development, collaboration and teambuilding, human resources strategy, social media, performance management, and employment law. She is also a member of the faculty at the W.P.Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

She has served on the City of Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Board in the following capacities:

Julie Pace’s practice handles employment law, handbooks, drug and alcohol policies, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, OSHA, independent contractor and alleged misclassification issues with DES and other government agencies, and defends claims of sexual harassment, employment discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and wrongful discharge, and against charges by the EEOC or ACRD. She handles matters involving OSHA, ICE, OFCCP, DOL, NLRB, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, ACA, Davis-Bacon, wage and hour laws, FAR, SCA, and government contracts.
