Tempe Chamber Announces Emerging Issues Forum: Building Workplace Diversity and Inclusion

Earlier this week, the Tempe Chamber of Commerce announced December's Emerging Issues Forum to take place on December 11, 2020, bringing together a panel of diversity and inclusion leaders from different industry sectors to share tangible ways they have advocated for equity in their workplace. 

Sponsored by SRP, this virtual event will be moderated by the City of Tempe's Diversity and Inclusion Manager Jonae Harrison and identify ideas and tips attendees can incorporate into improving the culture within their organizations.

Military Affairs Committee Fall Fundraiser Now LIVE

During the Annual Copper 5 Honors event, broadcasted live from the 161st Refueling Wing on November 13, 2020, Tempe Chamber's Military Affairs Committee (MAC) opened a virtual fall fundraiser which runs through November 27, 2020. 

 
2021 Mentoring Program | There's Still Time to Apply

The Tempe Chamber Women in Business Council has updated the 2021 Mentoring Program timeline to February through April with two monthly workshops. Ironman Arizona and Tempe Festival of the Arts Cancelled

On Friday, November 13, 2020, the City of Tempe announced that it will not approve permits for Ironman Arizona or the Tempe Festival of the Arts due to increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the state and region. City of Tempe Offers Flu Shot & COVID-19 Testing

On November 18th and 19th, the City of Tempe is offering Flu Shots and COVID-19 testing at the Tempe Westside Multigenerational Center. Registration is required.

Downtown Tempe Authority Needs Your Help!

Downtown Tempe Authority, the Business Improvement District for downtown Tempe, has partnered with the International Downtown Association to gather consumer opinions with a second, updated survey (you may have taken the initial Urban District Consumer Survey). As COVID continues to profoundly impact our community, it is more important than ever to know the priorities, concerns and behaviors of our office workers, residents and consumers.

With that in mind, Downtown Tempe Authority, in partnership with the International Downtown Association and RRC Associates, is launching Wave 2 of our Covid-19 Downtown District Sentiment Survey. Based on feedback and suggestions from Wave 1 participants, we have added new questions to address shopping, special events and transportation issues. Learn more and take the survey today.

New Financial Navigator Available for Tempe Residents

A new no-cost Financial Navigator Program is available to help residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic connect with financial resources, understand how to work with creditors and maximize their income.
 
Residents will get one-on-one assistance over the phone and can tailor a plan to their specific needs, everything from applying for rent assistance to managing college loans to finding free tax help. View the full City of Tempe article.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Receives New Sky Train Cars

Late last month, Phoenix Sky Harbor received two brand-new PHX Sky Train® Cars from the Bombardier Transportation plant in Pittsburgh. Cars 19 and 20 will be used in Stage 2 of the PHX Sky Train® project and are just two of the 24 new PHX Sky Train® cars to be delivered.
