Tempe Chamber Business Academy Calls for Industry Experts

The Tempe Chamber is looking for experts to teach a 60-minute course on various business related topics; Customer Acquisition, Marketing & Branding, HR & Compliance, Management & Leadership, Sales Growth, Trending and Finance. 

Last week, the Tempe Chamber announced the “Tempe Chamber Business Academy,” a virtual curriculum developed by the Chamber’s Businesses Innovation and Strategy Council designed to give businesses and business leaders the knowledge they need to grow their companies and strengthen our community.

Maricopa County Small Business/Nonprofit Grants 

The Maricopa County Small Business Relief Program is accepting applications to support the continued viability of small businesses. This program will provide up to $10,000 to qualifying organizations for expense reimbursement. Click here for more information.

Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Extension 
 
On Saturday, July 4, 2020, President Donald Trump signed an extension of the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through August 8, 2020. Click here for more information. 
Tempe Small Business Emergency Loan Program 

In April 2020, the Tempe Chamber of Commerce announced that the City of Tempe and Chamber member, Desert Financial Credit Union, had partnered to create a new and innovative loan program for smaller Tempe organizations. Small Business Administration Accepting New Applications for Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)

Last month, the Small Business Administration announced it would begin accepting new applications for the Ecnonomic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) of up to $10,000. Click here for more information.

Engagement Looks Different for Every Member 

The Tempe Chamber would like to remind its members of the various ways they can get involved and engage with other members of the community. One way to grow your business is to join a leads and referrals group; Tempe Chamber Coffee Connections groups. 

Currently, our Coffee Connections Groups are in need of individuals in the following industries: 

-Auto Sales
-Cleaning
-Landscaping
-Locksmith
-Heating & A/C
-Insurance 

Outside of our lead groups, the Tempe Chamber has monthly network development events, open to the public, along with several committees to participate. Update from Governor Doug Ducey

On July 16, 2020, Governor Doug Ducey signed an Executive Order extending a moratorium on residential evictions until October 31, 2020, providing continued protections for renters who are facing economic hardship as a result of COVID-19. The order ensures renters impacted by COVID-19 will be able to stay in their homes while extending the time to access rental assistance programs. Read the full release here. U.S. Small Business Administration Loan Clinic

In a recent release, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced it will be hosting a free monthly clinic to educate and inform attendees of credit requirements, interest rates, collateral terms, and amounts available. No registration is required. Click here for more information.
