Low-interest Loans to Help Businesses on Tempe Streetcar Route
A new program in Tempe provides low-interest loan opportunities to businesses along the streetcar route so they can have access to funds during construction.

Through a unique partnership between the City of Tempe, OneAZ Credit Union, Tempe Chamber of Commerce and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), a qualified business can get a line of credit for up to $20,000 at an interest rate of Prime plus 2 percent.

KJZZ Arizona StoryFest & Authors Showcase Features Over Fifty Local Talents
Book lovers, aspiring writers, and families are urged to enjoy the KJZZ Arizona StoryFest & Authors Showcase at Mesa Convention Center on June 1.

Urban Core Master Plan Public Meetings
Tempe is hosting another round of public meetings, this time to seek input on draft plans for guiding the
future of the city’s urban core development. Join us to review and provide feedback on the draft Urban
Core Master Plan and Transportation Overlay District (TOD) planning and code documents.

Annual Tempe Community Salutes is May 13th
Every year, hundreds of young men and women in Arizona make the important decision to serve our country in the armed forces. More than 50 will be recognized in Tempe. Community Salutes is an annual celebration to recognize and salute future military service members, and to give these men, women and their families the hometown sendoff they deserve. 

This year’s Community Salutes will take place at the Tempe Center for the Arts on Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. 

TempePRE Continues Accepting Applications for Next School Year
Tempe PRE is a tuition-based full-day preschool program supported by the City of Tempe in partnership with the Tempe Elementary School District and the Kyrene School District. The program is open to families who live or work in Tempe and its neighboring cities. Financial assistance is available only to income-qualified Tempe families.
There are 20 Tempe PRE classrooms in 12 local elementary schools.

Eligible children must be age 3 or 4 as of July 31, 2019 for the 2019-2020 school year.
